2026 MABGA Golf Outings & Events Schedule

Revised 02/14/2026

Welcome to the official 2026 golf outing and events schedule! Below you’ll find all the details for our upcoming golf outings, tournaments, and meetings. Most events on our calendar are outings—relaxed, social rounds that welcome golfers of all abilities—offering members diverse opportunities to play and compete. You’ll also see a few select tournaments, including the Joe Casey Pro Am Tournament and our annual fundraising charity tournament, clearly noted so you can plan your season accordingly.

Important Notes:

  • Directions to any of the host golf courses can be obtained by visiting our directions page.
  • All outings starting at 11:00 AM or later will not have lunch provided unless otherwise noted.
  • Please check this page regularly throughout the season as outings, tournaments, or meetings are added or updated.

    New Member Participation Requirement:

To promote safety, preparedness, and an enjoyable experience for all participants, prospective new members must complete two rounds of golf or two instructional lessons before joining official MABGA outings.

Many individuals new to MABGA are also new to the game. These initial rounds or lessons provide an opportunity to learn basic swing fundamentals, understand course etiquette and safety expectations, and become comfortable working with a coach in a playing environment.

Participants must also be able to maintain an appropriate pace of play. MABGA’s continued partnerships with host golf courses depend on our groups keeping up with the course’s pace guidelines. Consistent slow play can negatively impact other golfers and may jeopardize future invitations to return. Proper preparation helps ensure new members are ready to participate confidently while respecting fellow players and host facilities.

    Transportation Policy:

MABGA is not responsible for arranging transportation to or from golf outings, tournaments, or meetings. Each golfer and coach is responsible for securing their own travel arrangements.

Members are encouraged to coordinate with coaches, fellow golfers, family members, or local transportation providers to ensure reliable travel. Accessible transportation options such as paratransit or rideshare services may also be considered. Planning ahead is strongly recommended to ensure timely arrival and departure.

This policy allows MABGA to focus its resources on delivering quality golf experiences while encouraging independence and personal responsibility.

    Registration:

Informal Registration for Outings and the Joe Casey Pro Am Tournament:

Most outings, including the Joe Casey Pro Am Tournament, use an informal registration process. Members and coaches planning to attend should notify Paris Sterrett or their phone squad captain at least one week in advance. This allows organizers to plan meals, finalize pairings, coordinate course logistics, and address any necessary accommodations. Prompt responses support accurate planning and a smooth event experience.

Formal Registration for the Annual Fundraising Tournament:

The annual fundraising tournament requires formal registration. Participants must complete a registration form and submit payment in advance. Full details, deadlines, and payment instructions will be available on the official annual fundraising tournament page along with the tournament registration form.

MABGA members and coaches receive a discounted registration rate compared to the general public, recognizing their ongoing support while helping sustain the organization’s primary fundraising event. Participants are encouraged to review all requirements carefully and confirm attendance in a timely manner.

    Outing Meal Policy:

MABGA covers the cost of meals for blind golfer members and their coaches during official outings, funded through the organization’s treasury and supported by donations and fundraising efforts. Meal arrangements vary by course and may include boxed lunches, hot dogs, buffet service, or ordering from the on-site restaurant. When ordering from a restaurant menu, selections should be limited to burgers, sandwiches, or salads. Entrées, plated dinners, specialty items, and desserts are not included under the meal allowance.

Additionally, alcoholic beverages are not covered. This policy is based on three primary considerations:

    1. Safety – We want to ensure everyone’s well-being and avoid impairments, particularly for those driving home after events. Maintaining a safe and responsible environment is a priority at all MABGA outings.
    2. Cost management – Alcoholic beverages represent an added expense, and limiting coverage to non-alcoholic options allows us to manage funds responsibly and continue providing meals for all participants throughout the season.
    3. Consistency and fairness – Maintaining a clear, uniform policy ensures fairness for all members and simplifies coordination with our host courses and restaurant partners.

The only time the purchase of alcoholic beverages will be permitted is during the annual fundraising tournament.
